5 Ways to Get That Hotel Look at Home

One of life’s greatest luxuries is staying in a beautifully designed hotel with sumptuous bedding, thoughtfully planned layouts and impeccable service. Though this may not be possible every day,  you can capture that hotel feeling in your own home through clever design and thoughtful features.

Here are 5 things to consider to create that hotel feeling at home, all year round:

1. Layer your lighting

Layering your lights can give your home that luxe, hotel feel by making it look more interesting and considered.  Make sure you opt for dimmable lights where possible, to allow you to set the mood for different occasions or tasks.  Besides ceiling spotlights, try mixing in pendants, wall lights, floor lamps and table lamps for that cosy, boutique hotel look, and have them on 5amp sockets on one switch box or smart pad for ultimate flexibility.

2. Touches of colour on a calm background

While a neutral-toned theme can make your home look timeless and chic, adding pops of vibrant colour can create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Adding some lively hues via your furniture and accessories is a great way to show off your style and personality, and bring some joy to your living space.

3. A Quiet Moment

Creating a quiet spot in your home can give you that hotel-like experience, adding a place of calm through thoughtful design. A dedicated space, like a cosy reading nook with a dark, calming aesthetic, can be a stylish addition to your home. Similar to lounge areas in hotels, it’s a perfect spot to unwind.

4. Bespoke Headboard

Your bedroom can be totally transformed with a bespoke, upholstered headboard and they are, in our opinion,  the easiest way to get that hotel look at home. Using sculptural shapes, sumptuous fabrics and interesting patterns they will also add a focal point to the room and add tonnes of personality.

5. Explore Textured Wall Coverings

For an elevated wall finish, we suggest using textured wall coverings in an area of your home. They not only zone space – perfect for a reading nook or home bar area – but also create a focal point for the room. Why not add some pattern as well for an extra injection of joy!
